CURRENT AFFILIATION
Since 1995 Mr. Lindsay has been affiliated with Island Resources Foundation's Biodiversity Conservation Program for the Eastern Caribbean, initially as an assistant to Dr. Bruce Horwith, director of the program until mid-1997, and then as regional coordinator of the Foundation's biodiversity initiative.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Mr. Lindsay holds a Diploma in Forestry from the Eastern Caribbean Institute of Forestry (1990), Trinidad. Additional training includes:

WORK EXPERIENCE
ISLAND RESOURCES FOUNDATION
Biodiversity Conservation Program for the Eastern Caribbean. Assistant to the director, 1995-97; regional program coordinator, 1997 - present.
ENDANGERED SPECIES CONSERVATION COALITION (ANTIGUA)
Member of conservation team that carried out a program to protect the habitat of the endangered Antiguan Racer snake (Alsophis antiguae), including successful predator eradication and initiation of a captive breeding project (1995-97). Participating organizations: Antigua-Barbuda Forestry Division, Antigua Environmental Awareness Group, Island Resources Foundation, Fauna and Flora International (UK) and Jersey Wildlife Preservation Trust (UK).
Research associate and local counterpart to Dr. Jenny Daltry, herpetologist, on the Antiguan Racer Snake Conservation Project (1995). Coordinator and local counterpart to Matthew Morton, bat expert, for
Antigua-Barbuda Bat Research Project.
ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES
Member of planning team that prepared resource characterization studies and a comprehensive park management plan for the Bird Island (Antigua) Marine Reserve and Wildlife Sanctuary (1996-97).
ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS GROUP (EAG) ANTIGUA
Project director of the Environmental Awareness Group's Biodiversity Monitoring Project (1993-95, seconded by the Antigua Forestry Division). Project funded by, among others, the Moriah Fund, The Nature Conservancy, and Island Resources Foundation.
Currently (1997-98) providing assistance to EAG for a UNDP/GEF-funded conservation project to inventory and provide best management practices for Antigua's wetlands.
Member of the EAG Executive Council since 1990; has provided leadership for programs and activities focusing on field trips, community outreach, public lectures, newsletter production, natural history issues.
ST. CHRISTOPHER HERITAGE SOCIETY (SCHS)
Since 1992 provided periodic assistance in implementing the Society's Biodiversity Monitoring Program, participation initially focusing on plant identification.
Currently (1997-98) assisting the Society in carrying out a UNDP/GEF-funded conservation project to develop a Biodiversity Profile of St. Kitts, a vegetation classification system for St. Kitts and Nevis, and a medicinal plant herbaria (cooperative project with Nevis Historical and Conservation Society).
NEVIS HISTORICAL AND CONSERVATION SOCIETY (NHCS)
Since 1992 provided periodic assistance in implementing the Society's Biological Assessment and Monitoring Program, participation initially focusing on plant identification.
Currently (1997-98) assisting NHCS in carrying out a UNDP/GEF-funded conservation project to develop a Biodiversity Profile of Nevis, a vegetation classification system for St. Kitts and Nevis, and a medicinal plant herbaria (cooperative project with the St. Christopher Heritage Society).
MONTSERRAT NATIONAL TRUST AND MONTSERRAT FORESTRY DIVISION
Provided periodic assistance (1994-96) to Montserrat in the implementation of its Biodiversity Conservation Program (funded by, among others, WWF-UK, Moriah Fund, The Nature Conservancy, Island Resources Foundation). Assisted with plant collection and identification; prepared an overview status report on Montserrat fauna, a conservation science overview with a recommended approach and work plan for Montserrat's Biodiversity Program, and a field survey report with suggested research priorities and methodology.
Field researcher working with Fauna and Flora International as part of a biodiversity research and monitoring team in Montserrat (1995). Researcher on one-month field exercise collecting and identifying native ferns (1994).
ANTIGUA-BARBUDA FORESTRY DIVISION MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE
Attached to the Antigua-Barbuda Forestry Unit (1990-95) with responsibilities for the country's Botanic Gardens, environmental education, plant collection, herbarium development, biodiversity conservation; also developed a biological reference library, bat monitoring program, plant classification system, and ecosystem reference maps for Antigua-Barbuda.
