Island Resources Foundation (IRF) was founded in 1972 in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands to support conservation in the small islands of the Eastern Caribbean. For over 40 years the Foundation provided significant assistance for the sustainable development of small islands in the Caribbean and around the world.

In this revised and re-purposed web site, the Foundation not only hopes to underscore its history but to contribute to an ongoing understanding of small island systems, their evolving ecologies, and the challenges ahead. For more detailed information about this new version of the website, go to the About and Legacy pages.
