VI Conservation Data Center "Information today for tomorrow's resources."

The Eastern Caribbean Center of the University of the Virgin Islands and the local office of The Nature Conservancy are cooperating in the planning and implementation of an environmental assessment for the the US Virgin Islands.A principal product of that process is the Conservation Data Center, which is building a major GIS-based archive of Virgin Islands environmental information.

In addition, the Conservation Data Center has recently announced a new implementation of the Virgin Islands Biodiversity Conservation Database (BCD), a proprietary data management system of species information held for the Virgin Islands by the Nature Conservancy.
